SMS Terms & Messaging Policy

This policy describes how RexRuby.AI handles text messages sent on behalf of businesses that use our platform. By texting a RexRuby-powered number, you agree to these terms.

By texting a RexRuby number, you consent to receive automated responses from the business.
For outbound messages (reminders, follow-ups, offers), prior written consent is collected via intake forms.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance. Reply START to resume.
Message frequency varies: typically 1–8 messages/month per business.

1. Consent & Opt-In

RexRuby obtains consumer consent through two methods, depending on the type of message: (a) Conversational Consent (Rex — Inbound): When you send the first text message to a business's RexRuby-powered phone number, you are initiating a conversation and providing consent to receive automated responses from Rex, the AI booking assistant. On first contact, Rex sends a disclosure message identifying itself and providing opt-out instructions. (b) Prior Express Written Consent (Ruby — Outbound): For retention and marketing messages sent by Ruby (appointment reminders, follow-ups, reactivation outreach, birthday messages, and review requests), the business collects your prior express written consent through intake forms, booking forms, or website sign-up forms before any messages are sent. The consent checkbox includes disclosure of message types, frequency, data rates, and opt-out instructions. You are not required to consent to receive messages as a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Consent is not shared across businesses. 2. Types of Messages

You may receive the following types of messages: • Appointment booking confirmations and details • Appointment reminders (sent before your scheduled visit) • No-show follow-up messages (if you miss an appointment) • Rescheduling options and availability • Post-visit follow-up and satisfaction check-ins • Birthday and loyalty messages from the business • Reactivation messages if you haven't visited in a while • NPS (Net Promoter Score) survey requests • Responses to your inbound questions and inquiries

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your interaction with the business. Typically: • Booking-related: 1–3 messages per appointment • Reminders: 1 message per upcoming appointment • Follow-up: 1–2 messages after your visit • Retention outreach: Up to 2 messages per month You will never receive more than 8 messages per month from a single business through RexRuby.

4. Opt-Out Instructions

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. Other recognized opt-out keywords include: UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, CANCEL, and END. To resume messages after opting out, reply START to the same number. You may also contact the business directly or email hello@rexruby.ai to request removal.

5. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Please consult your wireless carrier for details on your messaging plan. RexRuby is not responsible for charges from your mobile carrier.

6. Privacy

Your phone number and conversation data are stored securely and are never sold to third parties. Messages are processed by Anthropic Claude (AI) and delivered via Twilio. We do not share your personal information with any party other than the business you contacted and the service providers necessary to deliver messages (Twilio, Anthropic).

7. TCPA Compliance

RexRuby complies with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and all applicable federal and state messaging regulations. Conversational messages (Rex): Sent only to individuals who initiate contact by texting a RexRuby-powered number. Rex sends a first-contact disclosure identifying the AI assistant, message frequency, data rates, and opt-out instructions. Marketing and retention messages (Ruby): Sent only to individuals who have provided prior express written consent through the business's intake forms, booking forms, or website sign-up forms. Consent is collected with a clear checkbox disclosure including message types, frequency ("up to 8 msgs/month"), "message and data rates may apply," opt-out instructions (STOP), and links to the SMS Terms and Privacy Policy. Businesses using RexRuby are required to maintain consent records. RexRuby provides TCPA consent logging tools in the business dashboard. 8. Supported Carriers

RexRuby messages are compatible with all major US wireless carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and their MVNOs. Some carriers may impose additional restrictions on automated messaging. If you experience delivery issues, please contact hello@rexruby.ai.
